Background
for Worksheet 4

Starting with the year 2000 bce and the birth of Abraham, the patriarch of the Israelites, there is an approximate 500 years between the life/times of four additional significant men of the Bible (see table).

These 500 year periods are a convenient way to begin to understand the general chronology of the people and events of Biblical times.

Before birth of Abraham prior to 2000 b.c.e.
Birth of Abraham  2000 b.c.e.
Birth of Moses  1500 b.c.e.
REIGN of King David 1000 b.c.e.
Birth of Daniel   500 b.c.e.
Birth of Jesus 1 c.e.
Christianity declared official religion of Holy Roman Empire 800 c.e.

For clarity

-The listed Biblical people need to be placed in the section where they spent the majority of their lives. So even if Miriam was born a bit before Moses, she belongs in the Moses section.

-Stories need to be placed in the time section of their setting. So in the past, student found online that the Creation Story was written in the 3rd time period, but obviously that story takes place in the first time period and needs to be placed there.
