INTRODUCTION TO MATTER AND ENERGY INCLUDING ATOMS

The entire universe is made of matter and energy and that includes your body and all of its cells.  That means the starting point for studying biology is often chemistry. Without using energy in its many forms your body would "run down" and die.  For example without energy and chemistry your body could not grow, heal after an injury, regulate itself, or use the oxygen (O₂) that you breath.
