Organizational Structure

Below is the conceptual plan for the organizational distribution of technology responsibilities. As a result of the elimination of the Educational Services division in March, 2003, a new structure for providing support for technology systems and information access will be developed.

Information Services (IS)

IS will be responsible for design, implementation, support, maintenance, and operations of the following systems or components:

• Data network
• Administrative data network training
• PCs, peripherals and related hardware
• Software installation and support
• Telephone system and training
• Open labs operational support
• Compressed video systems
• Local intranet (voice, video, and data)
• Identification of new technologies which may present opportunities for the institution

Learning Technologies

The Learning Technologies team will be responsible for implementation, support, maintenance and operations of the following systems or components:

• Non-administrative data network training (i.e. software training)
• Professional development training related to learning technologies
• Identification of new technologies which may present opportunities for the institution

Departmental responsibilities 

Departmental responsibilities will include operation of specialized departmental labs, mini-labs, and demonstration areas with the technical support of the IS group and approval of the Technology Committee. When these areas are shared between more than one department, Information Services will have operational responsibility.
