Online Course Features and Requirements

Number of tests:  One midterm and one final, both of which must be taken at one of our testing centers.

Required on campus sessions:  Two, one for the midterm and one for the final. 

Special labs or practicum:  At least two, one for the midterm which will require the student to submit their Learning Agenda showing their plan for self-developing, including names of potential coaches or mentors.  The final exam will require students to submit actual data from their Learning Agenda with documentation that is evident of the support of their coaches or mentors. 

Number of assignments:  A variety of assignments ranging from Internet based assignments, case studies, web links, group assignments, and others as deemed necessary for the completion of the course. 

Estimated time per week:  at least 4 hours

Scheduled activities or self paced:  Self-paced and some group work.

Description

This course is designed to help students enhance their Interpersonal Skills for career, job, and life success.  The main focus of this course is to present opportunities for students to practice developing job related Emotional Intelligence skills and job related Impression Management skills.

Objectives

This course will complete the following objectives:

  • Exhibit positive work behaviors and personal qualities to enhance the work environment.
  • Demonstrate self-discipline, self-worth, positive attitude, and integrity to improve the work place.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn new knowledge and skills to increase individual and organizational efficiencies.
  • Exhibit commitment to the organization to achieve company goals.
  • Accept responsibility for developing a personal learning agenda for future career success.
  • Accept responsibility for taking action to attract career mentors to help with achieving personal learning agenda.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are considered by employers as being desirable for employees.
  • Exhibit teamwork and collaboration behavior to enhance the work environment.

Your final grade is based on the amount of points possible for the course.  You will be graded by taking your points divided by the points possible and the scale below will be used to calculate your final grade.

 

93.5 - 100%  A

89.5 - 93.4%  A-

86.5 - 89.4%  B+

83.5 - 86.4%  B

79.5 - 83.4%  B-

76.5 - 79.4%  C+

73.5 - 76.4%  C

69.5 - 73.4%  C-

66.5 - 69.4%  D+

63.5 - 66.4%  D

59.5 - 63.4%  D-

59.4 and below  Failing
