Description

This course broadens student knowledge through selected topics and issues pertaining to child care. Topics may include administration, nutrition, activities, or legal and ethical issues. Course may be repeated for credit toward graduation up to six credit hours.

Objectives

1.    Analyze the current types of accreditation programs for child care centers and homes.

2.    Evaluate relevant information gathered from visiting an accreditated program.

3.    Articulate your position and its importance to children in your final research paper.

4.    Justify your position on the selected program in your final research paper using professional resources.

Grading

 Each instructor develops a grading policy based on each course. In general, Early Childhood courses grading includes specific assignment descriptions with corresponding points, late policies and clearly specified participation policies.
