Prerequisite - OIT 181
Before enrolling in this course, the student should be familiar with basic touch-typing fundamentals and have some experience working in a windows environment with a mouse. You will need access to a computer with Office 2007 and an Internet Browser. This is an Intermediate level Excel course. Students should have knowledge of the basic functions of Excel before enrolling in this course. You should be able to create a spreadsheet with a chart. You also need to be able to for with formatting functions, formulas, and if statements. |

| Course Description | This course introduces students to the intermediate features of Excel and presents information about the Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam program. Major topics will include: working with financial functions, data tables, amortization schedules and hyperlinks; creating sorting, and querying a worksheet database; creating templates and working with multiple worksheets and workbooks; and linking an Excel worksheet to a Word document. Upon completion of this course, students will have covered all of the objectives for the Microsoft Office Specialist Core Excel 2007 certification exam. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Course Goal | Upon completion of this course the successful student will have (1) gained the skills necessary to pass the Microsoft Office Specialist Core Excel 2007 Examination and (2) learned how the Excel 2007 skills acquired can be used in the business world. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
