Computer Equipment Requirements
What type of computer equipment,
software, and level of Internet access do I need
as a online learner?
The following are the minimum level
requirements for computer hardware, Internet connection, and computer
software. If your system exceeds what is listed here you have met
the recommended computer equipment requirements for KCC online courses.
Currently there are compatibility issues between Blackboard and Internet
Explorer 7. If you have upgraded to that browser or have Windows Vista
(Internet Explorer 7 is standard with Vista), you may have problems
accessing all of the features in Blackboard. Internet Explorer version 6
is preferred for Blackboard. If you have Windows Vista, Blackboard
recommends that you use Firefox for your browser.
To see if your computer has the minimally
required software, use our interactive "detect Your technology" feature.
Note that this page will open in a separate browser window. To
return to this web site, close the window. If you do not have a fast
connection to the Internet, it may take some time to complete the
detection.
