| Multimedia Carts
Kellogg Community College has
numerous multimedia carts that enable faculty to wheel technology into
the classroom. Faculty wanting to use the carts should make
arrangements with the appropriate contact person to reserve the cart. Faculty are responsible for
locating,
setting up, and returning the carts.
Faculty needing help with using the carts should contact a member of the
Learning Technologies
group (x2378) or ask
fellow faculty who have used them.
It is also strongly encouraged that faculty take the time to conduct a
"trial run". Well before your presentation, take the time to locate the cart, become familiar
with the provided software, peripherals, and if necessary, log onto the network
and Internet.

What software and
equipment are available on the carts?
All carts are equipped with
LCD projectors, Microsoft Office 97, 2000, or XP, and Novell for network access. There
is at least one network jack in each classroom.
The computers also have a
security device installed that prevents permanent
changes being made to the system. This means that if you install
additional software or store files on the hard drive, this information will be removed
the next time the computer is rebooted.
