"Using Graphic and Presentation
Technologies to Enhance Face-to-face Instruction"
Kathy
Mann Physical Therapy
Instructor Project
Description
Kathy
Mann primarily used PowerPoint for the enhancement of lectures
in the classroom. Her PowerPoint-enhanced lectures assist her students
in the PTA classroom in understanding and visualizing musculoskeletal
anatomy. Kathy also reports that her PowerPoint presentations help
to fight boredom! Students
enjoyed seeing "real-life" pictures of anatomy. The
visuals stay on the screen while Kathy talks about the structure which
allowed students to get a clear picture of what is said verbally.
Kathy adds that with these presentations her students do not have to suffer through
her "non-artistic sketches of muscles". Finally, Kathy
really likes the feature of being able to "draw on her PowerPoint slides" during
presentations further assisting her students' understanding by focusing
their attention to certain features of the image.
