Academic Web Server
An "academic web server" has been established by Kellogg Community College to provide an opportunity for faculty to post web-based material on the Internet.

Backing Up Your Data
The College cannot protect you from loss of files, only you are responsible for finding and backing up all your personal files. For this you will need to get to know your system, identify the files you need to keep safe, and do frequent backups.

Blackboard
A course management system used by KCC to enhance instruction.  Request a Blackboard course or learn how to utilize Blackboard in your courses.

GroupWise
Novell GroupWise is a comprehensive electronic mail and scheduling software application.  It includes options that enable you to send items such as mail messages with attached files, appointments, tasks, and notes.

Interactive TV
ITV uses videoconferencing technology to link classrooms at multiple campus sites into a shared video-connected classroom.  KCC uses ITV to increase the number and variety of courses available to students.

MCCA
KCC is a member of the Michigan Community College Association.  The MCCA provides professional development opportunities to KCC faculty.

MCCVLC
KCC is a member of the Michigan Community College Virtual Learning Collaborative.  The MCCVLC provides professional development opportunities to KCC faculty.

MCCNet
The Michigan Community College Network has been organized to provide information relating to Michigan Community Colleges.  The web site was made possible by a grant from the Michigan Department of Career Development.  This site provides online documents and information about community college statistics and data.

Microsoft Office
MS Office is a suite of applications that support word processing, presentations, mathematical spreadsheets, and more.

Mission and Goals
The Learning Technologies group is committed to supporting faculty with the task of incorporating instructional technologies into classroom-based or online learning environments.

MiVU
Michigan Virtual University is a wonderful resource for KCC faculty providing grants, free self-paced tutorials, and online courses for leaning how to teach online.

Multimedia Carts
Each building on campus and each center has at least one IBM-compatible computer on a mobile cart allowing faculty to wheel the computer and accompanying projector into a classroom.

Novell
KCC provides faculty and staff with networked file storage, software, and printers.  Novell, which requires a username and password, provides users with access to the KCC network.

Online Courses
KCC offers distance education courses delivered via the Internet.  Learn about the process of developing an online course for KCC, or how to become an online instructor.

Registration
All training workshops require registration.  Registration can be done online, or by phone or email.

VLC - Virtual Learning Collaborative
Kellogg Community College is a member of the distance learning collaborative known as the Virtual Learning Collaborative (VLC).  The VLC provides students in Michigan with an ever increasing choice of online courses.
