Scientific Paper Evaluation Form

This is the criteria I will be using to grade your final project.  All project should be a minimum of 6 pages long and reflect thoughtful and thorough work.

Introduction: 5 points

• sufficient background information so purpose of study is clear?
  • Why did you choose this field trip
  • Did you clearly state what you intended to learn?

Procedure or Materials and Methods: (15 points)

• How did you carry out the learning of your field trip
• Remember to include your web research (URLs) here

Results: 10 points

• What did you learn
• clear text description of results with good grammar
• figures and/or tables if appropriate

Discussion: 10 points

• Review briefly what you learned and discuss how this apply to your goals?

Literature Cited: (5 points)

• Part of your learning was to find web sites that gave you more information to support your field trip.  You MUST incorporate part of that information into the procedures, materials, and methods or results part of our paper and have citations there to the "endnotes" that tell where you got your supporting information.

Overall: 5 points

• report is clearly written and logically organized?
• understanding of content clearly demonstrated by author?
• spelling and grammar OK, easy to read?
