GRADE:
Your course grade is based upon the total number of points accumulated from both lecture and lab. This includes all individual tests and assignments throughout the semester. Final grades will be assigned according to the following percentage scale.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Prerequisite: A one semester lecture and laboratory course which includes the study of structure, physiology and natural history of plants. Provides a background for more advanced courses and should be elected by pre-medicine as well as prospective Biology majors.
CORE ABILITIES:
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills in gathering, analyzing, interpreting facts and problem solving using scientific inquiry
- Demonstrate writing, listening, computer, verbal and non-verbal communication skills
GENERAL EDUCATION OUTCOMES:
- Analyze, evaluate, draw conclusions and make decisions based on quantitative and qualitative data.
- Represent data graphically and be able to interpret data represented graphically
- Read and comprehend at the college level (grade 13/14)
- Write clearly, accurately and effectively in a variety of contexts and formats
- Express ideas verbally in a coherent, organized and effective way.

You are expected to complete assignments in your lab notebook. See specific directions for completion in you class schedule. Note the lab tests will be found in the Blackboard in the Assignments folder. Look carefully for the specific assignment due the week listed in your class schedule
EXCESSIVE ABSENCE:
Please make certain you check the Blackboard daily. Remember, that is your classroom. Failure to complete assignments within the due date will cost you points and may affect successful completion in this class. Always contact your Instructor if there is a reason you cannot complete an assignment by the due date.

Cheating is NOT permitted. Academic Integrity is expected in this class.
