  • Know what an ordered pair is.
  • Understand what a "rectangular coordinate system" is.
  • Graph ordered pairs on an x-y graph.
  • Identify ordered pairs that correspond to points on an x-y graph.
  • Know where the origin of a rectangular coordinate system is.
  • Identify the x-axis and the y-axis on a graph.
     
  • Given an equation with two variables, be able to find one variable given a value of the other.
  • Determine if an ordered pair is a solution to an equation with two variables.
     
  • Given an equation with two variables, make a table of ordered pairs.
  • Given a table of ordered pairs that correspond to an equation, graph the equation.
     
  • Find the square roots of perfect squares by hand.
  • Find the square roots of any number using a calculator or table.
  • Find the square roots of fractions.
     
  • Use formulas to find the area and perimeter of different shapes.
