The Tele-Garden: A Tele-Robotic
Installation on the WWW This tele-robotic installation allows WWW users
to view and interact with a remote garden filled with living plants. Members
can plant, water, and monitor the progress of seedlings via the tender
movements of an industrial robot arm. Guests can also go through a tour
of how this garden works. It is this guest component that students in a
science methods class might find very interesting. It would not take more
than one class period. Sadly, this project may end in June of 1996 when
the arrangements for the loan of the robotic arm ends.

The Currency
Comparison Page What will $5.00 Australian purchase in Australia?
-
4 cans of Coke (375ml)
-
6 litres of petrol
-
Big Mac,Large Fries & Coke = $4.75
That is how this site welcomes the viewer. They then ask that you think
about what the same Aussie $5.00 will buy in your part of the world. You
are asked to convert (this is done by sending you to a wonderful conversion
site in Switzerland!), come back and submit your list of what can be bought.
While there however, there are many conversions .. in both directions...
that can be explored. After submitting a solution the reader can then compare
their ideas with those submitted by previous visitors to the site
