Session Overview
Put a brief description of this session here. Tell what it is, why they
should care, what they need to know before working on this session, and what
they will do next if they complete it successfully.
Session Goal
Give a BRIEF statement of what they will accomplish in general terms in
mastering this session's content.
At the completion of session 0, the
successful student will
(note: if the objectives do not need to be mastered in any specific
order, use bullets instead of a ordered list)

Give the lesson materials for the objective here. You should refer to the book if
the content is primarily there and merely list the most important things on which to focus here.
If the students must memorize, give them a mnemonic
If the student must learn a concept, give them the definition and examples
If the student must learn a principle, give them the rule and some examples
If the student must learn a skill, give them a step by step job aid and a way to measure
their progress

Return to Objectives
This is an example of a complex objective that has subobjectives (which
sometimes can have subsubobjectives) A brief overview including why all
these components are important is called for followed by a list to each of the
subobjectives.

Give the lesson materials for the subobjective here. You should refer to the book if
the content is primarily there and merely list the most important things on which to focus here.
Be sure to explain how it fits into the objective as a whole

Give a listing of questions frequently asked about this lesson along with the
answers. Remind the students in the discussion area for this lesson to
check this area before posting questions in the discussion area. Encourage
students to ask questions of each other and post "good" questions and
answers from the discussion area here for future classes to see as well.

Any material that you think is interesting or might help them understand more
complex concepts or principles in the course FOR WHICH YOU WILL NOT EVALUATE
MASTERY should go here along with any external links that you believe might be
helpful.

Return to Objectives
Students need to practice what they have learned in the format that you will
use to evaluate mastery. The links here should contain evaluation tools
that will actually appear in their assessment... NOT ALL, but a small portion so
that the students are enticed to do the practice.
- Link to practice quiz which give IMMEDIATE feedback as to the correctness
- Link to interactive essay questions with evaluative criteria supplied by
instructor to compare their work
- Links to practice activities that are more complex that have links to
samples of correct products plus the evaluative criteria indicating why this
correct product is correct. Students should be given "tips"
for applying that same criteria to their own product. Have a link to
email the instructor so students can ask questions.
